<p>I’m sure you’ve heard the proverbial phrase “Patience is a virtue.” The problem is that although it’s commonly accepted wisdom, I don’t think it helps at all when you’re building a business for long-term success. You’ve got to make sure things happen so you stay in business and have a way to grow consistently. One of the key things you’ll need to know to achieve long-term success is how to quickly boost site traffic.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-getting-more-website-visitors-is-one-of-the-ways-you-can-grow-your-leads-aka-potential-clients-or-customers-but-how-do-you-do-that">Getting more website visitors is one of the ways you can grow your leads (aka potential clients or customers). But how do you do that?</h2>



<p>The following 5 actionable tips to boost site traffic can be a great place to start:</p>



<ol class="wp-block-list">
<li><h3>Run Ad Campaigns</h3>If you want quick results paid advertising could be your best bet. However, if you don’t know what you’re doing, you’ll want to proceed cautiously because it’s way, way ,way too easy to spend a lot of money on ads and not see any return.<br><br>Your first step is to choose the right platform. If you want your ads in front of people actively searching for what you offer, <a href="https://ads.google.com/home/">Google Ads</a> or <a href="https://ads.microsoft.com/">Microsoft Advertising</a> can help you here. If you want to reach a specific demographic, <a href="https://business.meta.com/">Meta</a> or <a href="https://business.linkedin.com/marketing-solutions/cx/24/01/ads-for-linkedin">LinkedIn</a> can help.<br><br>Once you decide on your platform(s), you’ll want to focus on creating copy that grabs attention and drives action. You can do this by thinking about the problem your ideal client has and doesn’t want along with the solution they want and don’t have. When you put yourself squarely in the emotional space of your ideal client, you’ll be much better equipped to create compelling copy.<br><br>And, please, don’t forget the visuals. A compelling visual will capture your ideal client&#8217;s attention and imagination. It will make your ad much more clickable. <br><h4>However, an ad doesn’t stop with the click. You’ve also got to consider where the click takes the clicker.</h4>To have a successful ad campaign you’ve got to have a landing page that converts. A conversion could be scheduling an appointment, joining your newsletter list, downloading a free resource, purchasing something, or taking another action that brings you and your business value.<br><br>Then when all of the background work is completed, you’re ready to set a budget for your ads that you’re comfortable with. I always suggest that my clients start with a small daily budget. A small budget allows you to test how well your campaign works using Google Analytics and the ad platform’s analytics.<br><br>Then, after looking at the data, you can make small changes to optimize your ads to deliver the site traffic you want.<br><br>Yes, it takes some significant effort to implement ads well. However, this strategy can quickly boost site traffic once you implement it. Just keep in mind that ads are a pay-to-play option. Once you stop paying for ads, the leads they generate are gone too.</li>

Your content can be blog posts, videos, infographics, or memes.<br><br>When you share your business’s expertise regularly, the hope is your audience will come to expect your posts and engage with them. However, because of the constantly changing algorithms on social media, you never really know when or if your content will appear in someone’s feed.<br><br>You can help get your posts seen by using hashtags and taking advantage of appropriate trends. Using relevant hashtags can help people interested in specific topics find your content. When you join in on appropriate trending conversations, your comments can highlight your business to a larger audience.<br><br>Keep in mind that engaging in trending conversations is just the beginning of the engagement required on social media to drive more traffic to your site. You’ll also want to respond to all comments on your posts so the commenters feel seen, ask questions to stimulate conversations, and comment on posts from other businesses or influencers in your industry to build relationships.<br><br>As you build relationships within your industry, you can explore doing cross-promotions and shout-outs for each other so you each benefit from introducing your content to a wider audience which can, in turn, increase your site traffic.<br><br>When you’re consistent with your social media efforts, this tip can help you sustain and grow the traffic to your site.</li>

The first step is to choose a prize that people will want but something that is also relevant to your business. Then, you need to decide on the entry requirements which could include people needing to register to win on your website.<br><br>Then, you need to promote the contest or giveaway on social media, your newsletter, or maybe even a small ad campaign. You also need to continue to promote the event throughout the registration period to encourage more and more people to enter.<br><br>And when the event is over, you’ll want to announce the winner across all of the channels you used to promote it. That way you’ll still connect with people and perhaps encourage more to participate in the next event.<br><br>These types of events can quickly boost traffic to your site. They can also grow your email list and social following, which can encourage people to continue visiting your website after the contest or giveaway.</li>

<li><h3>Collaborate with Influencers</h3>Working with influencers in your niche who already have more followers than you, requires you to put in a lot of thought and create a win-win strategy. If you do this well, the rewards can go way beyond boosting your site traffic.<br><br>You’ll want to start by identifying influencers who have a good reputation, you resonate with, and who your ideal clients resonate with. Then you’ll want to reach out to each of them with a clear and compelling proposal. <li><h3>Use Email Marketing</h3>If you have an email list this is a fairly easy thing to do and doesn’t have to cost a lot to accomplish.</li>



<li><h3>Host a Giveaway or Contest</h3>This takes some planning and promotion, but it’s not the most difficult thing to do.</li>



<li><h3>Run Ad Campaigns</h3>This is definitely more challenging than the previous 3 to pull off because you need to have knowledge of ad platforms and a budget.</li>



<li><h3>Collaborate with Influencers</h3>This is the most difficult of the 5 tips. It requires a lot of deep thought to come up with a win-win proposal that you’ll probably need to run by several influencers before you find one that will work with you to grow your following and business.</li>
</ol>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-or-you-may-decide-that-you-want-to-grow-your-site-traffic-based-on-the-tips-that-provide-the-highest-potential-roi">Or, you may decide that you want to grow your site traffic based on the tips that provide the highest potential ROI.</h2>



<p>If that’s your thought process, here’s the order I suggest you consider:</p>

<li><h3>Run Ad Campaigns</h3>When you know what you’re doing, ads can quickly generate the traffic you want.</li>



<li><h3>Collaborate with Influencers</h3>When you find the right influencers, you can see phenomenal returns on your efforts.</li>



<li><h3>Use Email Marketing</h3>Because it’s relatively low-cost and direct access to your audience, email marketing can keep you top of mind which will keep people coming back to your site and give you the regular traffic boost whenever you send out an email.</li>



<li><h3>Host a Giveaway or Contest</h3>If you’ve already got the 3 preceding tips dialed in, then having a giveaway or content can give you some bang for your efforts because they can increase your mailing list and social following.</li>



<li><h3>Use Social Media</h3>The ROI of social media is incredibly variable and requires consistent effort over a lengthy period of time to see meaningful results.</li>
</ol>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-then-again-you-may-need-to-boost-your-site-traffic-and-sustain-the-boost-over-the-long-term-to-make-sure-your-business-is-growing-at-the-rate-you-want">Then again, you may need to boost your site traffic and sustain the boost over the long-term to make sure your business is growing at the rate you want.</h2>

<li><h3>Collaborate with Influencers</h3>As I mentioned previously, when you find the right influencer to work with, the traffic boost can be sustained.</li>



<li><h3>Host a Giveaway or Contest</h3>This can only create sustained traffic if you’re regularly hosting contests or giveaways.</li>



<li><h3>Run Ad Campaigns</h3>When you stop paying for ads the traffic from them stops too.</li>
</ol>



<p>And, of course, you may want to look at things in an entirely different way. Before you implement any strategy to quickly boost and sustain traffic to your site, get clear about your goals. When you know what you want to achieve, it will be easier to measure your results so you can continue moving your business forward toward long-term success.</p>

It&#8217;s essential to assess if the features offered in the free tier align with your current needs.<br><br>You&#8217;ll also want to keep track of the number of emails you send each month. The free version has a cap and you will automatically incur additional charges if you exceed this cap.<br><br></li>



<li><h4>Integration Capabilities and Ease of Use</h4>Mailchimp is known for its simplicity. And many of my clients who are just embarking on building an email list choose it as their email marketing platform.<br><br>It also has a large library of integrations, so it&#8217;s likely it will work well with the other tools you might be using.</li>

<p>My very first email marketing platform was AWeber. It was easy for me to use and offered the capabilities I was looking for at the time. These days it caters to both novices and those with a bit more experience under their belts.</p>

However, if you&#8217;re looking for ultra-advanced automation, you might find it a tad limiting. (This is why I eventually moved away from AWeber as my email marketing platform.)<br></li>

<p>This is the platform I&#8217;ve been using for the past 5 or so years. I find it user-friendly, but not everyone on the KJ Content Marketing team does. However, it&#8217;s still an option that both beginners and seasoned email marketers find very useful.</p>

However, while it&#8217;s packed with features, if you&#8217;re seeking ultra-specific integrations, you&#8217;ll want to explore its compatibility with third-party tools before getting a subscription.<br></li>



<li><h4>Integration Capabilities and Ease of Use</h4>Known for its intuitive interface and fantastic real-time chat support (at least with the product I have), it can be a great option. And, as mentioned before, you&#8217;ll want to verify integration capabilities before subscribing.</li>

<p>If you&#8217;re looking for a comprehensive solution that goes beyond email marketing, Keap offers a holistic approach. Its automation capabilities mean you can set up campaigns and then let them run, giving you more time to focus on your patients. Plus, with its CRM features, you&#8217;ll have a 360-degree view of your client interactions, ensuring personalized and effective communication.</p>

<li><h4>Features Beneficial for Health &amp; Wellness Professionals</h4>There are numerous features you might find helpful. <br><br>Like GetResponse and AWeber, Keap offers automated email sequences and integrates with many different third-party apps.<br><br>It offers a CMS so you can keep track of client details, appointment histories, and interactions. Many find it incredibly helpful to have information like this at their fingertips.<br><br>Appointment scheduling and payment processing are two of the other features that many helping, healing, and wellness professionals appreciate.<br></li>



<li><h4>Pricing Models and Potential Drawbacks</h4>Compared to the other email marketing tools mentioned here, Keap can be on the pricier side. Many small businesses or solo practitioners find it cost-prohibitive.<br><br>Among other potential drawbacks are the steep learning curve for those who aren&#8217;t tech-savvy, too many features for some, frequent updates that can cause confusion for users who constantly have to adapt, and slower response times than most people desire.<br></li>



<li><h4>Integration Capabilities and Ease of Use</h4>As mentioned before, Keap is definitely not the easiest to use for those who aren&#8217;t technically inclined. And, although it offers integrations with many third-party apps, users have reported occasional glitches or compatibility issues, which can disrupt workflows.<br></li>

<p>You might want to think about selecting the right platform as setting the stage for your email marketing. It&#8217;s the backdrop against which all of your strategies will unfold. By selecting a platform that aligns with your needs for at least the next 1-2 years, you&#8217;re positioning yourself well for the future growth and success of your practice.</p>

All you need to do is make sure your posts capture people&#8217;s attention while scrolling through social media. And once you have their attention, you can encourage them to click on the links to your content. Which translates to website traffic.</p>



<p>Imagine a dermatologist, Dr. Rodriguez, who uses Instagram and Facebook to share skincare tips, educational videos, and success stories from her patients. Through regular engagement, she builds a loyal community of followers interested in skincare. By strategically including links to relevant blogs and pages on her site, Dr. Rodriguez drives traffic to her website, where visitors can explore more in-depth information and book appointments.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">4. Analyze your website traffic.</h3>



<p>Tracking and analyzing your website traffic data is essential to achieve sustained growth. When you understand your key metrics and see the patterns in the data, you can identify areas of improvement and make data-driven decisions. </p>



<p>Google Analytics is the first tool I ask all of my clients to enable on their websites for analyzing website traffic. It&#8217;s free and lets you see how people are getting to your website. With a little configuration, it can also show you how the various pages on your site are converting.</p>



<p>Another tool you might consider adding later is a heatmap tool like <a href="https://www.hotjar.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Hotjar</a> or <a href="https://www.glassbox.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Glassbox</a>. A heatmap tool can help you understand how people interact with specific pages on your website.</p>



<p>Here are a couple of examples of how analyzing your website traffic can help you increase your conversion rate. </p>



<p>First, imagine a dentist named Dr. Thompson. Dr. Thompson analyzed her website traffic and found that most traffic was coming from mobile devices. So, she realized she needed to make sure her website worked really well on phones.</p>



<p>Once her website was optimized for mobile devices, people engaged more with her site, leading to a higher conversion rate, and her practice grew.</p>



<p>Next, imagine a chiropractor named Dr. Lee. Dr. Lee noticed that many visitors to her website would leave without taking any action. By looking at heatmap data, she saw that people weren&#8217;t seeing the call-to-action button on her homepage, which offered a free consultation. So she made the button prominent, and many more website visitors suddenly scheduled free consultations. And many of the people who had consultations became new patients.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Continue the marketing you&#8217;re already doing.</h2>



<p>When you choose to focus on increasing website traffic to grow your practice, that doesn&#8217;t mean you should immediately stop the marketing you&#8217;ve already done. You&#8217;ll still want to continue networking, referral marketing, insurance panels, and using your social media channels as you&#8217;ve been doing. After all, this is how you achieved your current level of success.</p>



<p>However, depending on your practice, you may, like many of my therapist and psychologist clients do, start tapering off on your insurance panels and grow the full-pay portion of your practice.</p>



<p>When you really look at what it takes to create a thriving practice, website traffic is vital. And by persistently and consistently implementing SEO, content marketing, and social media strategies, you&#8217;ll gather the data you need to determine how to grow your practice online effectively.</p>

<p>Your website is only as valuable as your visitors say it is. If you don&#8217;t have traffic it&#8217;s not very valuable. So, the goal of every website owner is to get more visitors to the site. But with so many options for driving traffic, it can be really hard to know where to start. So, here are 10 simple tips to help you get more traffic to your website.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-1-optimize-your-website-for-search-engines">1. Optimize your website for search engines</h2>



<p>If you&#8217;ve read many of my blog posts, you know this is my favorite method to get traffic to a website. </p>



<p><a href="https://kjcontentmarketing.com/seo-consulting-services/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Search engine optimization</a> (SEO) is the process of optimizing your website so it ranks higher in search engine results pages. And when you do this well, you&#8217;ll get people who have never heard of you before visiting your website simply because they did a Google search. And who doesn&#8217;t Google or Bing or Siri or&#8230; </p>



<p>In other words, when you optimize your website for search engines, you can increase your visibility and attract more visitors.</p>



<p>To accomplish this, you need to do a few things. </p>



<p>First, make sure your website works well on mobile (i.e., mobile-friendly) and has fast loading times. These are factors in what&#8217;s known as the user experience or UX.</p>



<p>After your site&#8217;s UX is squared away, the next step is to do your keyword research. This will help you figure out the words and phrases your ideal clients use to search for your goods and services.</p>



<p>Once you know how people search for what you offer, then you want to use those keywords to optimize the content on your website. I always recommend putting together a complete keyword strategy for a website so all of the pages and content on your website work together.</p>



<p>Finally, you&#8217;ll want to build high-quality backlinks to your website. A backlink occurs when another website links to yours. The more reputable the other site is, the more valuable the backlink is. And by valuable, I mean the more traffic it could send to your website.</p>



<p>SEO can definitely improve your website&#8217;s visibility in search engine results pages and attract more visitors. The thing to remember though is that SEO is not a quick way to grow traffic. It&#8217;s a long-range plan, but once it starts working it really works.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">2. Publish high-quality content</h2>



<p>It should go without saying, but you&#8217;d be surprised at how often I see content that doesn&#8217;t qualify as high-quality. Sometimes the easiest way to understand something is to understand what it isn&#8217;t. And to understand what high-quality content is, it&#8217;s easier to understand what it isn&#8217;t.<br><br>Poor content is self-serving and/or simply a regurgitation of what&#8217;s already out there. (Yes, this is an implicit warning about using ChatGPT output as-is for your content.) No one except for the content creator&#8217;s mother wants to consume it.<br><br>So this means that high-quality content is focused on your ideal client and their needs. It can position your services and products as the solution to the challenge your ideal client faces, but the focus is always on your ideal client. <br><br>To truly create content that&#8217;s focused on your target market and that drives website traffic, you need to thoroughly understand how your ideal clients like to consume information. Then, you need to create what they want to interact with. If your ideal clients like to keep things light and easy and fun, then that&#8217;s the tone your content should take.<br><br>As for the content itself, it needs to reflect your interpretation and experience with what you&#8217;re trying to communicate. When you put your unique perspective into the content, it will be more intriguing to your ideal clients. key to attracting and retaining website visitors. When you publish high-quality content, you provide value to your audience, establish your authority in your niche, and increase your website&#8217;s visibility in search engine results pages.<br><br>And when you consistently publish high-quality content, it&#8217;s much easier to attract and retain a loyal audience and increase traffic to your website.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">3. Use social media to promote your content</h2>



<p>Personally, I don&#8217;t use social media, but I use it all the time professionally. That&#8217;s because social media platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram can be really great places for promoting your content and driving traffic to your website. When you share your content on social media, you can reach a broader audience and attract <em>new </em>visitors to your website.<br><br>Here&#8217;s what you need to do to be successful in using social media to get traffic to your website. First, figure out which platforms your ideal clients use. Then, create eye-catching images and headlines for your content to encourage people to click on it. Finally, engage with your followers by commenting on their posts and responding to the comments and questions you receive.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">4. Participate in online &amp; in-person communities</h2>



<p>When you engage with others in online and in-person communities related to your niche, you can build relationships, establish your authority, and attract more visitors to your website. <br><br>Participating in these communities means sharing your expertise, providing value to the communities, and promoting your content. This can look like being an active member of a community, speaking at an event, or even starting your own community.<br><br>If you&#8217;re going to become a member of a community, you&#8217;ll want to make sure you join one that supports you in some way. So, perhaps you&#8217;ll look for one that contains your ideal clients or one that helps you grow your expertise.<br><br>When you take the time to become more well-known in the circles that matter to you and your business, you&#8217;ll be better positioned to get more visitors to your website.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">5. Use Email Marketing</h2>



<p>Email marketing can be great for driving traffic to your website. It allows you to communicate with your list directly and build a relationship with them over time. And, just like you need to publish high-quality and engaging content to publish on your site, you need to create emails that have the same qualities. <br><br>Your emails need to be visually appealing and easy to read. So you&#8217;ll want to use clear, concise language and include high-quality images or videos to make your content more engaging. And the most important thing to remember when your goal is to get more visits to your website it to include a call to action (CTA). An effective CTA should encourage people who read your email to click through to your website.</p>



<p>But email marketing only works if you have a list of people who sign up for it. The way you get people to join your email list is to offer something of value in exchange for their email address. This could be a free ebook, a discount code, or access to exclusive content. Once you&#8217;ve built your email list, you can start sending out regular newsletters, promotional emails, and other types of content.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">6. Be a Podcast Guest</h2>



<p>Podcasting is an increasingly popular way for content creators to reach a wider audience. When you&#8217;re a podcast guest, you tap into the host’s audience. In other words, you introduce yourself to a new group of potential customers.</p>



<p>To become a podcast guest, the first step is to identify podcasts relevant to your industry or niche. then you&#8217;ll want to reach out to the hosts and pitch yourself as a guest. When you do this, you&#8217;ll want to highlight your expertise and what you can bring to their show. And finally, when you appear on a podcast, be sure to mention your website and provide a clear CTA for listeners to visit your site.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">7. Guest Blog on Other Websites</h2>



<p>Guest blogging is another great way to build your brand and drive traffic to your website. <br><br>When looking for websites to pitch a guest blog, you&#8217;ll want to keep a few things in mind. First, there should be an overlap between your target market and the website&#8217;s target market. You&#8217;ll also want to pick a site with a domain authority that&#8217;s higher than yours. (You can use <a href="https://moz.com/products/pro/seo-toolbar" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Moz&#8217;s free toolbar</a> to see what a website&#8217;s domain authority score is.) </p>



<p>After you&#8217;ve identified relevant websites that accept guest blogs, you&#8217;ll want to reach out to the owner with a pitch for your post. (Don&#8217;t be surprised if the owner lets you know there&#8217;s a fee for guest blogging.) </p>



<p>Once you&#8217;ve found a site that accepts your pitch, make sure the post you write provides tremendous value to the readers and has a link to your website. Since the goal is to get traffic to your website, guest blogging can only do this if you include a link back to your website. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">8. Use video marketing</h2>



<p>Videos are incredibly effective at grabbing attention and engaging with your audience. Whether it&#8217;s a product demonstration, a how-to tutorial, or a brand introduction, videos can help you reach a wider audience and improve your website&#8217;s ranking in search results. <br><br>To get started with video marketing, consider creating a YouTube channel for your brand and posting regular video content. You can also share your videos on social media and embed them in blog posts to maximize their impact.</p>



<p>One important thing to keep in mind when creating videos is to make them short and sweet. Attention spans are getting shorter, and people are less likely to stick around for a long, drawn-out video. Keep your videos under 2 minutes if possible, and get to the point quickly. Make sure your video has a clear message and CTA that asks viewers to visit your website. When you&#8217;re crystal clear about what the next step the viewers need to take, they&#8217;re more likely to take it.</p>



<p>(Of course, you can use SEO to optimize your video marketing on YouTube, but that&#8217;s another discussion altogether.) </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">9. Collaborate with other websites or businesses in your industry</h2>



<p>Collaborating with other websites or businesses in your industry is a great way to build relationships and drive traffic to your website. You can collaborate in a number of ways, such as creating content together, guest posting on each other&#8217;s blogs, or cross-promoting on social media.</p>



<p>When collaborating with other websites or businesses, it&#8217;s important to choose partners that have a similar target audience and share your values. This will help ensure that the collaboration is beneficial for both parties and that the content resonates with each of your audiences.</p>



<p>For example, if you own a fitness website, you could collaborate with a healthy food blog to create a joint recipe ebook. This would allow each of you to tap into the other&#8217;s audience and provide valuable content for their readers.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">10. Get more backlinks</h2>



<p>I&#8217;ve briefly mentioned links from other websites to yours in the previous tips. This is what&#8217;s known as a backlink. Backlinks are a key factor in improving your website&#8217;s search engine ranking. They&#8217;re one way search engines determine if your content is valuable and trustworthy.  </p>



<p>To get more backlinks, you can reach out to other websites in your industry and ask if they would be willing to link to your content. You can also create high-quality content that is valuable and shareable, which will naturally attract backlinks over time. </p>



<p>For most of my clients, I suggest they repost their blogs on <a href="https://medium.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Medium.com</a> and begin generating backlinks that way.</p>



<p>Another effective strategy for building backlinks is to participate in online communities, such as forums or social media groups. By sharing your content in a non-spammy way and engaging with other members of the community, you can build relationships and earn backlinks from other members.</p>



<p>For most websites, increasing traffic requires a combination of different strategies. But don&#8217;t feel like you have to do them all at once. Pick the tip that seems easiest and start with it. Once you have that one down, then add in another one. By implementing these tips and continually testing and optimizing your efforts, you can increase your website traffic and achieve your business goals.</p>

So, it needs to be compelling. <br><br>To create a powerful headline, tap into the benefits your business offers and express them in a way that speaks directly to your target audience. <br><br>For example, a headline like &#8220;Transform Your Health and Happiness: The Ultimate Wellness Guide&#8221; would be more impactful than a generic headline like &#8220;Welcome to Our Wellness Site.&#8221; According to the <a href="https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1509/jmr.10.0353" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Journal of Marketing Research</a>, headlines that use emotional words, such as happiness and transformation, can have a significant impact on engagement and sharing of content.</li>
</ol>



<ol class="wp-block-list" start="2">
<li><h3>Use Compelling Language</h3>Using language that resonates with your audience is essential to keep them involved with your website. That means you&#8217;ll want to engage their senses and speak to their aspirations. <br><br>Using <a href="https://makealivingwriting.com/sensory-language/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">multisensory language</a> to evoke vivid images and emotions can help your website visitors be more interested in your content. The theory as to why this is the case is it&#8217;s because we perceive the world around us using multiple senses. And content that reflects multiple senses seems more real.<br><br>To speak to your target audience&#8217;s aspirations, you&#8217;ll want to use &#8220;power&#8221; words. &#8220;Power&#8221; words tap into emotions and can create a sense of urgency and importance around your content. Some examples of power words are &#8220;discover,&#8221; &#8220;proven,&#8221; and &#8220;secrets.&#8221; </li>

<li><h3>Use Storytelling</h3>People love stories and have since the dawn of time. So it makes sense that if you can craft stories that pull the right visitors into the content on your website they&#8217;ll be more likely to interact with you. <br><br>To do this you&#8217;ll want to create stories that resonate with your target audience and inspire them to take action. Use language that is easy to understand and relatable, and incorporate metaphors and analogies to help your visitors visualize your message. <br><br>For example, a wellness website could share a success story of a client who transformed their health and happiness by following their program. <a href="https://psycnet.apa.org/record/2000-00920-003" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Research shows</a> that storytelling can increase engagement and interest in content by creating an emotional connection with the audience. <br><br>One of my favorite books on the use of storytelling in marketing is <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Building-StoryBrand-Donald-Miller/dp/B0B31R6M6Y/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Building a Story Brand</a> by Donald Miller.</li>

As an example, a wellness website could use a CTA like &#8220;Transform Your Health Today: Get Started Now!&#8221; </li>

<p>I may be biased, but for every business I&#8217;ve had and for the success of each of my clients, engaging website visitors has played an enormous role in business growth. And when you use language and storytelling techniques to connect with and engage your target audience you&#8217;ll be able to improve the engagement and success of your wellness website. <p>Are you considering buying website traffic to increase your site&#8217;s traffic? Although it may seem like an easy solution to low traffic, there are several things you should seriously consider before making this type of purchase.</p>



<p>Just to make sure we&#8217;re on the same page, buying website traffic involves paying for visitors to your site from third-party sources. While it may increase your site&#8217;s numbers, it probably won&#8217;t improve your site&#8217;s engagement, conversions, or reputation. And, in my experience, these are the more important measures and predictors of business growth.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-here-are-some-very-important-things-to-think-about-before-you-buy-website-traffic">Here are some very important things to think about <em>before </em>you buy website traffic.</h2>



<ol class="wp-block-list" start="1">
<li><h3>The Quality of Traffic</h3>When you buy website traffic, there&#8217;s no guarantee that the traffic will be any good. In most cases, the traffic will actually be bots or people who&#8217;ve been paid to click on your website. These visitors are highly unlikely to care about your site &#8212; or your business. And this disinterest will likely result in high bounce rates, low engagement, and poor conversion rates.<br><br>According to <a href="https://www.cybertalk.org/2023/01/10/how-to-detect-prevent-malicious-bot-traffic-2023-2" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Cyber Talk</a>, in 2022 40% of the total internet traffic comes from bots. These bots are programmed to visit websites and interact with them, making it difficult to determine whether the traffic is real or not. This means that if you buy website traffic, there is a high chance that you will receive bot traffic, which won&#8217;t be useful to your site.</li>
</ol>



<ol class="wp-block-list" start="2">
<li><h3>The Source of Traffic</h3>It&#8217;s essential to consider the source of the traffic you plan to buy. Some sources may offer traffic from high-quality websites and social media platforms, while others may offer traffic from low-quality sources. Low-quality traffic sources may include pop-up ads, clickbait sites, and spammy email campaigns.<br><br>An important note here is that people sometimes refer to running ads as buying website traffic. Ads are a reliable source of traffic because you&#8217;re targeting your ideal market. Google AdWords is a reliable source of traffic, but it is also one of the most expensive. Social media platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram, can also be a great source of paid traffic via ads. <br><br>However, it&#8217;s important to ensure that your ads are targeting the right audience or you could wind up spending a lot of money for few if any results.</li>
</ol>

<p>Buying website traffic may seem like a quick and easy solution to increase traffic to your site, but it can have several negative consequences. And you need to consider these seriously <em>before</em> making a purchase. </p>



<p>You also need to know there are lots of legitimate ways to increase your site&#8217;s traffic. You can drive more traffic to your site by optimizing your website for search engines, creating high-quality content, and engaging with your audience on social media platforms. These strategies may take more time and effort, but they&#8217;ll result in higher-quality traffic and better engagement rates.</p>



<p>If you do decide to go against my not-so-subtle advice and buy website traffic anyway, you need to research the sources thoroughly and choose a reputable provider. Look for those that offer traffic from high-quality sources, have positive reviews, and offer a guarantee for their services.</p>



<p>I know buying website traffic may seem like an easy solution to increase your site&#8217;s traffic, but it could be too costly. You need to carefully weigh the pros and cons and consider the quality, source, cost, impact on SEO, and legal implications before making a purchase. Investing in legitimate marketing strategies may take more effort, but it will result in higher-quality traffic, better engagement rates, and a stronger online presence in the long run.</p>

<p>Having a website is essential for any business to thrive, and health and wellness B2C businesses are no exception. But just having a website isn&#8217;t enough. To succeed online, you need to drive traffic to your site. One effective way to do this is through Search Engine Optimization (SEO). In this blog post, we&#8217;ll explore a case study of a health and wellness B2C business that used SEO to increase its website traffic.</p>



<p>The client in question was a B2C solo practitioner operating in the health and wellness space with a functional website that needed improvement in terms of traffic. She wanted to expand her business to include generating passive income and wasn&#8217;t really sure where to start outside of occasionally posting on social media.<br><br>This is where we came in. She asked us to help her increase her website traffic and improve her overall online presence. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-here-are-the-steps-we-took-to-achieve-those-goals">Here are the steps we took to achieve those goals:</h2>

<li><h3>SEO Audit</h3>We always want to see how well a client&#8217;s website is performing from a comprehensive SEO perspective <em>before</em> we do any research or make any recommendations. We do this because we want to understand where we&#8217;re starting from and what traction the site already has.</li>

<li><h3>Keyword Research</h3>Our next step is to conduct in-depth keyword research based on our knowledge of the industry and an interview with our client. This helps us understand our clients&#8217; niche, exactly how they want to be presented online, and the goals they have for the next 3-5 years. Once we understood these details, we created a list of potential keywords.</li>
</ol>

<li><h3>Keyword Recommendations</h3>After gathering all of the potential keywords, we developed a keyword strategy and made recommendations for which keyword to optimize the existing pages for. Once she approved our recommendations, we created page titles, meta descriptions, and new URLs for the existing pages. </li>

<li><h3>Content Creation</h3>With the more technical pieces of the optimization completed, we edited the copy on each page to support the keyword we selected for it. We also put in place a content creation schedule to make sure the blog posts supported the SEO strategy we developed.<br><br>Our client chose to write the majority of the blogs herself and asked us to fill in now and again.</li>

<li><h3>Ongoing Evaluation</h3>SEO isn&#8217;t something you set and forget. So we regularly monitored her website to make sure our strategy continued to be effective, we identified new opportunities, and addressed any issues quickly.</li>

<li><h3>Building Backlinks</h3>We also helped our client find outlets on which she could repurpose her blogs and gain additional traction through backlinks.</li>
</ol>



<p>Now that you understand the process we used, it&#8217;s time to get to the good stuff. Here are the results of this case study to increase website traffic.</p>

<p>We finished the first 3 steps in mid-August 2020. Our client began writing optimized blogs the next month.</p>



<p>As mentioned previously, our goal was to increase her website traffic. The graphic below shows both the number of blogs posted each month and the monthly organic traffic to her site.</p>

<p>As you can see, our client wrote blogs in fits and starts which is against the common wisdom of content creation for SEO. (Common wisdom recommends a consistent publishing schedule.) Despite the inconsistent posting, her organic traffic grew 5750% in 18 months!</p>



<p>In addition to the increase in website traffic, her list also grew. When we began working with her, she didn&#8217;t have a list. We helped her create a series of opt-ins and she grew her list to 506 subscribers.</p>



<p>Her ultimate goal in engaging with us was to set the foundation for offering products to her website visitors. She wanted passive income. And she&#8217;s started creating that because of this phenomenal growth in traffic which helped her start to build her list. </p>



<p>But that&#8217;s not all our engagement created. Our work to grow her organic website traffic also had an unexpected and amazing benefit. After discovering her blogs through Google Search, an editor from a publishing house offered her a book deal!  </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">So we achieved her goal and then some!</h2>



<p>The results of our efforts went beyond our client&#8217;s expectations. Over several months, her website traffic increased by an awe-inspiring 57.7X, and the number of leads generated from the site skyrocketed. (Which you could argue isn&#8217;t hard to do when you start from zero.) The really great thing was, our client&#8217;s online presence was transformed as she established herself as a thought leader in her niche as evidenced by her book deal.</p>

Whether you&#8217;re sharing a personal story, a case study, or a company story, make sure it&#8217;s compelling and resonates with your ideal clients.<br><br>And then there&#8217;s how it looks. Appearances really do matter when it comes to content. Because like it or not, the better your content looks, the more likely it is to be shared in a positive context. (Of course, it&#8217;s possible to have content go viral that looks like crap, but that&#8217;s usually because people are laughing at it and that&#8217;s not necessarily good for growing your business.)<br><br>People also need to feel that the content provides value before they&#8217;ll share it. You&#8217;ll want to be sure to use high-quality images and videos to complement your text. You&#8217;ll also want to make sure your content is visually appealing and easy to understand. The more visually appealing it is, the more likely your clients and ideal clients will engage with it.<br><br>You&#8217;ll also want to be authentic. Don&#8217;t try to present a false image of your brand or message. Let your brand&#8217;s personality shine through. The more authentic you are, the more likely your clients and ideal clients will connect with your message and take action.<br><br>And having them take action is exactly what you want. When they take action, it increases the likelihood that their referral will increase traffic to your site.</li>

<p>And let&#8217;s face it, it takes a bit to understand website traffic terminology because it can be confusing. Many years ago when I first started looking at website traffic I was really confused by the term bounce rate. I didn&#8217;t understand what the references were telling me. The people I asked didn&#8217;t understand it any better than I did. So I struggled to understand it. </p>



<p>I&#8217;ve put together this resource for anyone who&#8217;s struggling to understand the different terms and metrics used to measure website traffic. Because it&#8217;s crucial that you know this stuff if you want to improve your online presence and reach more clients. </p>



<p>This reference guide is based on Google Analytics&#8217; latest version &#8211; because it&#8217;s free and it&#8217;s commonly used.</p>
